THE PENULTIMATE HILLSBOROUGH FARMERS’ MARKET OF THE SUMMER IS SET TO SERVE UP THE BEST OF ARTISAN PRODUCE
Hosted by Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council, this summer’s Hillsborough Farmers’ Markets are in full swing, and the third one of the summer will take place on Saturday 27th July from 10am-3pm at the stunning setting of the Dark Walk at Hillsborough Fort.
Both the May and June markets have already attracted a great number of visitors to Hillsborough, all with the same common interest – a love of great local produce! This month’s market will once again offer marketgoers an abundance of fresh, artisan foods and home-grown favourites, including speciality rare-breed meats, seasonal and local vegetables, award-winning charcuterie, preserves, chutneys and pickles, Irish artisan cheeses, fresh bread and cakes.
Local producers attending the upcoming Hillsborough Farmers’ Markets will include Barn & Bread who will have their homemade gluten free, veggie & vegan dishes including Crabbie Fries, Buddha Bowl and Loaded Sweet Potato Fries on offer. A delicious selection of handmade chocolate and luxury milkshakes will also be on offer from Lisburn & Castlereagh chocolatier Wee ChoCo. Popular artisan producers, many of whom have grown to be regulars at the annual Hillsborough Farmers’ Markets, include Ke Nako Biltong, Parson’s Nose, Crumbs Vegan Bakery, Indie Fude’s artisan Irish cheese stall and Buchanan’s Farm, known for their small-batch cured bacon and flavoured handmade sausages.
Specialised horticultural and crafts offerings from Saintfield’s Cottage Garden Plants, In klover and Ellie Mac Candles, among others, will also be available to purchase by visitors of the Hillsborough Farmers’ Market.
Tasty treats from Armstrong’s Twisted Fish will be available to purchase for furry friends.
