Belfast based Brand Consultancy, Mammoth and their sister company Massive PR are the latest companies to jump on the ‘pop-up’ restaurant craze as they created a business networking event with a ‘twist’ in their city centre studio.
For one night only they transformed their Clarence Street premises into an exclusive ‘pop-up’ restaurant by partnering with Michelin Star chef Michael Deane to create a unique dinner experience for 50 guests. The ‘twist’ was that the guests had to bring a ‘plus one’ – but they couldn’t bring a husband, wife or business colleague – it had to be an unconnected business contact. This ensured that everyone who attended had the opportunity to meet potential new business acquaintances.
Managing Partner, Jeremy Poots, commented, “Our large New York/loft-style studio provided the perfect setting for a pop-up restaurant and we were delighted to bring Michael Deane on board to provide the high class culinary menu. Michael and his team created a ‘pop up kitchen’ in our premises and served it all up live and loud to our guests – who loved being able to watch him and the team dramatically prepare and serve up the food only a few feet away – just like in one of their normal restaurants”.
Michael Deane added, “We loved the idea of creating a ‘Pop Up’ inside someone’s office – partly because it was outside our normal comfort zone – but a different experience for everyone. We loved taking it on as a challenge – as long as we could deliver the event to the same standards you would find in any of our restaurants. And we’re looking forward to the next one..wherever that might pop up!”
Paul Martin, Managing Partner at Mammoth, said “all of our guests were extremely impressed with the event, which we believe is a first of its kind to be created in Northern Ireland and we look forward to hosting more innovative business networking events in the future.”
